At Medicsi, we understand that undergoing a surgical procedure can be a daunting experience. That’s Why Our Anesthesia Services are designed to ensure your comfort and safety throughout your journey with us.

What is Anesthesia?

Anaesthesia or anaesthesia is a state of controlled, temporary loss of sensation or awareness that is induced for medical purposes. It may include some or all of analgesia, paralysis, amnesia, and unconsciousness. An individual under the effects of anaesthetic drugs is referred to as being anaesthetised.

Anaesthesia is a medical treatment that prevents patients from feeling pain during surgical, medical, or other procedures. Our team of experienced anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anaesthetists (CRNAs) use various types of anaesthesia to tailor care to each patient’s unique needs.

Types of Anesthesia Services We Offer

  • General Anesthesia: We ensure that you are completely unconscious and pain-free during your procedure.
  • Regional Anaesthesia: Numbs a specific region of your body, such as a limb, to minimise discomfort.
  • Local Anaesthesia: Numbs a small area where the procedure is taking place.
  • Sedation: Helps You Relax And Feel Drowsy, but still allows you to respond to commands.

What is the role of an anaesthesiologist?

The anaesthesiologist monitors and controls the patient’s vital life functions, including heart rate and rhythm, breathing, blood pressure, body temperature, and body fluid balance. Control the patient’s pain and level of consciousness to make conditions ideal for a safe and successful surgery.

Our Anesthesia Team

Our team of experts has years of experience in providing pain-free and comfort-based anaesthesia care. Our anesthesiologists and CRNAs work closely with the surgical team to ensure that you have a pain-free procedure experience.

What to Expect

Before Your Procedure, our anaesthesia team will:

  • Evaluate your medical history and current health
  • Discuss your anaesthesia options and answer any questions
  • Develop a personalised anaesthesia plan

During Your Procedure, our team will

  • Monitor your vital signs and adjust anaesthesia according to the needs of the procedure being done.
  • Ensure your comfort and safety.
  • Make sure that when you wake up, it’s a smooth transition from sleep to being alert.

After Your Procedure, our team will

  • Monitor your state of consciousness and vitals closely when you are in the theatre recovery area and manage any pain or discomfort.
  • Provide clear instructions for post-procedure care.

Recovery:

After the operation, the anaesthetist will stop the anaesthetic medication and you will gradually wake up. You will be in the recovery room at first, before being transferred to the room or ward.

Depending on your procedure you might be staying in the hospital for a few hours to a few days after your operation.

General anaesthetics can affect your memory, concentration, and reflexes for a day or two, so it’s important for a responsible adult to stay with you for at least 24 hours after your operation, if you are allowed to go home. You will be advised to avoid driving for 24 to 48 hours.

We as an anaesthesia team do the best possible efforts to provide you with safety and comfort during the surgical procedures; in spite of which some complications cannot be completely avoided. In case any such things happens; our teams both surgical and anaesthesia will be there for you at arm’s length.

At Medicsi, your comfort and safety are our top priorities above everything else.
